Dr. Karen Kalivoda
Director, University Testing Services
Dr. Kalivoda has served as director of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at the University of Georgia (UGA) since 1985. Under her leadership, the DRC has experienced dramatic growth and now offers some of the most comprehensive services in the nation. Dr. Kalivoda was named director of University Testing Services in 2004.
Dr. Kalivoda holds a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration. She also serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services in the College of Education at UGA. In that role, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, supervises counseling internships and serves on doctoral dissertation committees.
Current research interests involve studies that advance the concept of Universal
Instructional Design (UID) in college teaching. She recently coauthored three
chapters for a book on UID. Universal instructional design involves multi modal
teaching and multi modal assessment methods to enhance learning for all
students.

Yvette Leverett, MA, CPRP
Coordinator, University Testing Services
Yvette joined the staff of University Testing Services in June of 2008 as the Coordinator of UTS. In her role as the Coordinator, she is responsible for the daily activities of University Testing Services. Yvette received her Bachelors degree from the University of South Florida and her Master's from Atlanta University (now called Clark-Atlanta University). She has more than 21 years of professional work experience. Prior to joining UTS, she worked as a Program Director for Boley Centers, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL. Yvette's experience in the field of management and mental health services plays an important part in her ability to effectively network with the UGA campus and community
Carol Alexander
Data Collections Specialist II
Carol Alexander has worked with University Testing Services since February 2004.
She coordinates a variety of services for the University of Georgia including test
scoring, staff evaluation reports and furnishes necessary Scantrons for faculty and
staff members. Carol also assists in administering mass exams including Regents,
Orientation and History/Constitution exams. Carol assists the Testing Coordinator
with managing Faculty Services; we continue to seek new ways to serve Faculty with
resources to available to UTS.
Carol maintains placement exam scores for incoming students and Institutional SAT
scores. She works with the Registrars Office and advisors from Colleges at the
University providing placement and graduation requirement scores for UGA students.
Christie Stegall, MNR
Test Administrator
In August 2007, Christie joined the UTS team after working 7 years in the private business sector. Christie coordinates and administers a wide variety of standardized tests including the Regents exams, Departmental Placement exams, History and Constitution exams and several national standardized tests. She manages a staff of full-time and part-time proctors to provide excellent customer service to UGA students, faculty and members of the Athens community. She is currently a board member on the Georgia College Testing Association and presented at the 2008 National College Testing Association Conference.
Gilda Ivory
Assistant IT Professional
Gilda joined UTS in 1995 when it was the Counseling and Testing Center and administered the first computer based exam through Educational Testing Services (ETS) in 1997. She supervises the Prometric Computer-Based Testing Lab (CBT); and in that capacity is the lead test center administrator (TCA). CBT offers a variety of certification and licensure exams in addition to the GRE, TOEFL, PRAXIS I, CPA and MCAT. And, since becoming a Prometric testing center in January 2006, CBT offers a wide variety of exams. The list of exams can be viewed at www.prometric.com.
Austin Kovarik
IT Professional Specialist
After a long career in the Technology Services department of a major Atlanta-based media company, Austin Kovarik became the IT Specialist for University Testing Services in February 2009. This role includes supporting student and staff computers, as well as maintaining the underlying server and network infrastructure.
David F. Perkins
Psychometric Specialist
David was hired in August of 2006 as a full-time Psychometric Specialist after a 10 year part-time working relationship with UTS. He primarily administers the MAPP exam for the Terry College of Business and the Written Statement of Interest for the Grady College of Journalism during open enrollment. David also proctors online exams for Kryterion and Castle Worldwide (who awarded UTS the Gold Standard Award for Excellence in 2008), ISO Quality Testing, the MAT, AICPCU exams, and COMPASS, as well as exams given from other institutions to students enrolled in various distance learning programs.
Dianne Foster
Psychometric Assistant
Dianne Foster has worked with University Testing Services since October 2002. She provides the office with a wide variety of services. Dianne supplies test information and schedules appointments for clients. She proctors a range of exams including Placement exams, Grady Written Statement of Interest, Institutional SAT (ISAT), GA/US Constitution and Independent and Distance Learning exams. She is the UTS liaison regarding the UGA Independent and Distance Learning office. Dianne is actively pursuing an undergraduate degree.
Virginia Anthony
Administrative Associate II
Virginia Anthony has been with University Testing Services, formerly known as Counseling and Testing, since 1990. She began her years at Counseling and Testing as a Senior Secretary in 1990 as a secretary to the counselors. In November 2000, she became Office Manager. In 2002 the counselors were merged in with CAPS at the Health Center. The department was renamed University Testing Services in 2004 and Virginia's title was later changed to Administrative Associate II. She is responsible for payroll, travel request, reimbursement, purchase orders/check requests, telephone services representative, and liaison for property control and the P-Card holder for the department. She assists with the budget and revenue for the many tests administered through our services.
Myra Yarbray
Administrative Assistant II
Myra Yarbray joined the University Testing Services in August of 2008. Myra greets and assists students and visitors. She is responsible for efficient operation of the front desk, including training temporary employees, directing phone calls, distributing mail, faxes, and copies, and makes appointments for test takers. Myra works with the Data Collections Specialist in the collection and distribution of classroom tests left for scoring, and bills for evaluations and answer sheets. Myra is in charge of the departmental email account and provides office assistance to UTS staff as needed.
Lynne Moseman
Psychometric Assistant
Lynne joined the staff of University Testing Services in 1993 as a proctor for Freshman Orientation and Regents Testing. In 1995 she started working as Psychometric Assistant in Contract Based Testing (CBT). At that time CBT offered academic tests including GRE, GMAT, PRAXIS I, and TOEFL. In February of 2006 CBT contracted with Prometric to become a Professional Testing Center. Since then Lynne has administered over 75 different academic, professional and corporate tests while maintaining strict Prometric security standards and offering excellent customer service.
David Coe
Psychometric Assistant
David joined the University Testing Services staff in July of 2009. David serves as a Test Center Administrator in the Prometric Test Center where he administers exams such as the GRE, CPA, and MCAT. He also proctors a wide variety of other computer and paper-based exams for students of the University of Georgia and members of the community. David received his B.S. in Psychology from Berry College. Prior to joining UTS, David worked with the American Red Cross as an Emergency Services caseworker on both local and national-scale assignments.
